Longtime residents of Kansas City should expect to hear A LOT OF THE SAME OLD PROMISES WE'VE LISTENED TO FOR MORE THAN A GENERATION OF FAIL . . . But I'm wondering . .
WILL EJ AND ELLEN ASK AIRICK ABOUT THE SUNSHINE REQUEST FOR AIRICK'S E-MAILS THAT DR. COVINGTON FILED POSSIBLY CONCERNING A HUGE ($86 MILLION) CONTRACT?!?!?
Remember that throughout the last School Board election campaign and through most of his tenure, Airick L. West has touted a "governance" model of School Board duties over management and the micromanagement of so many school boards over the years. Meanwhile, the implication of so many TKC commenters and maybe of the Sunshine request in and of itself seems to suggest that West might have, could have, just maybe even in the slightest possibly strayed from that principal.
Listen and report back, just in case I'm napping . . .
I would not believe a word Airick says. They need to have an independent investigation of what really went on concerning the $86 million contract.
ReplyDeleteThis guy is just a continuance of the long list of failures on this board. Being a young guy should have allowed him to appreciate the struggles of the district. Instead, he pouts on TV about the situation. He should have taken questions from the media. Crispin Rea also wussed out by not taking question. So much for being a voice for the Latino community. More like a silent voice.

1. Covington's contract specifically prohibited Board member intervention in Superintendent business. Micromanagement, it is called.
ReplyDelete2. West tinkered with a line of credit with a major bank, and a large multi-million dollar energy contract, apparently keeping that fact from Covington. Until he found out only by making an open meetings request ... TO HIS OWN ORGANIZATION!
3. West broke the contract terms, not Covington.
4. West is Treasurer for Missouri Democratic Committee, which should cause any journalist to question and research this issue - were West's behind the scenes business dealings politically linked? Tied to contributions? Favors to supporters?
Isn't anyone in the press going to get to the bottom of this?
West is going to resign tonight he's called a closed board meeting. He knows his ass is in trouble for dipping, into the districts funds.
