I’ve got a real beef with the water drainage project in Westport . . .
"The city is wasting over $15 million on this project. Burns & Mac turned this into a $23 million project so they could make a bigger percentage. I brought a Construction water drainage person to meet with the city over five years ago about the simple fix.
"I first complained to the city about the drainage problem in 1979. This project is a huge waste of city money. Westport needs its old-fashioned street lights fixed first for security reasons. Both projects could’ve been done for under 10 million. I had the construction expert give me a bid on fixing the problem. Burns and Mac blew this project way out of proportion and overcomplicate & overcharge for what could've been a simple solution."
