The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas confirmed on social media Thursday afternoon, April 3, that Father Arul Carasala was fatally shot earlier in the day. Father Carasala had been the pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Seneca, Kansas.
“We are praying for the repose of his soul and for the comfort of all who loved him,” the Archdiocese said.
Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann also took to social media with heartfelt condolences. He called the incident a senseless act of violence that left an entire parish grieving the loss of their beloved leader.
