KANSAS CITY OWNS THIS GROCERY DRAMA YET STILL CAN'T EXERT ANY VIABLE MANAGERIAL CONTROL!!!
In fact, the lack of checks & balances might be the biggest problem as our readers point out that the nearby Aldi and other small retail in the area manage to eek out a profit without 12th & Oak ownership.
Either way . . .
Here's the damage along with a sneak suspicion that we'll have to do this all over again because local politicos haven't actually enacted any solution other than graciously providing more taxpayer cash . . .
"Community Builders Kansas City will receive $161,000 in rent relief and $750,000 in expedited funding so that the Sun Fresh it operates at the city-owned Linwood Shopping Center can remain open.
"The ordinance also authorizes the city attorney to pay $450,000 to settle legal claims between the city and Community Builders."
