Rigged Kansas City Effort To Replace Brian Platt Gets Complicated

And so . . .

Behind the scenes what seemed like a "slam dunk" is turning into a hot mess at city hall.

Per ushe . . .

Here's a TKC peek at the fun part . . .

COUNCIL WANTS OTHER CANDIDATES BEYOND ACTING CITY MANAGER KIMIKO GILMORE!!!

The debate is becoming more intense and we have a quick sneak peek behind the scenes . . .

Here's the break down . . . To start . . .

Acting City Manager Kimiko Gilmore is the front runner and will likely triumph.

However . . .

Northland leaders would much rather entertain the idea of promoting city planning director Mario Vasquez given his real world experience and qualifications.

Interestingly . . .

Trusted insiders tell us that it has been a EXCEPTIONALLY ENTERTAINING listening to so many urban leaders attempting to discount the qualifications of a self-made Latino immigrant with advanced degrees in favor of their buddy Kimiko.

Even better . . .

Public Works Director Michael Shaw is now in the mix.

OF COURSE there would be a conflict with his wife on council BUT city hall has signed off on worse and ethics complaints aren't taken seriously anymore at 12th & Oak . . . Instead . . . This power move has a surprising big of support given that Mr. Shaw has actually performed his job with a surprising amount of skill and seems to have hit his stride . . .

Like it or not . . .

Insiders don't have the same kind of confidence that the acting city manger will be able to learn as quickly.

Accordingly . . . And deservedly . . . The sketchy process is now turning sour for everybody involved as the impending Brian Platt lawsuit looms over the entire discussion.

Developing . . .
