Today's crackdown and hopefully a warning to so many local owners of dangerous mutts:
Both face one count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and one count of second-degree assault in connection to the death of 46-year-old Chris Culbertson.
Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced the charges Friday morning.
“Owning animals comes the responsibility of properly securing them. When owners neglect their duty to maintain adequate fencing or ignore warning signs of aggression, they put innocent lives at risk and could face serious criminal charges,” Prosecutor Johnson said.
