In overcrowded local jails . . . Criminals almost never serve the time they're given.

"Identified by SAVE KC as a high-risk for violence. She was sentenced to 18 years for second-degree murder and 15 years for unlawful use of a weapon, a sentence which will be served at the same time. She also was given a three-year sentence for armed criminal action, which will run consecutively to the first two sentences."
