Kansas City Voters Double Up On Taxes Despite Recession Threat

Tonight Kansas City defeated history and endorsed more cash for local politicos to enjoy and spend at their own discretion.

The results were pretty much what our blog community predicted . . . Check-it . . .

Kansas City Election Board reports about 15% of registered voters cast their ballot in this election so it wasn't exactly a stunning endorsement of the status quo . . . Instead it was a demonstration that "democracy" in Kansas City still works by way of special interest groups.

And we think that 15% number is a bit generous . . . Even when factoring in the shrinking percentage of residents who are registered to vote.

Still . . .

With 2 million Americans out of work and trending talk of a recession . . . Maybe we should look at the bright side and take this as a sign of local confidence?!?
