Kansas City Shelter Forced To Cut Back

Local community service programs can't keep up with rising demand for food amongst the working poor.

The organization says it only has one week of meat remaining, and it desperately needs the community's support.

“We’re currently at full capacity, and without your support, we won’t be able to continue providing nutritious meals to those who rely on us,” said Russ Otte, Shelter KC’s Food Services Manager. “Meat donations have dropped significantly, and with food prices rising, we’re facing a major challenge. We urgently need help to meet the demand and ensure we can keep serving our guests.”
