More than a year ago the front office of the Kansas City Royals revealed a terminal concrete cancer diagnosis to the public. 

Last year at this time we noted that voters, baseball fans and elected leaders were hoping against hope that a new therapy and treatment would save the beloved facility.

And now, after recent testing and multiple scans . . . First on TKC we're happy to share the results . . .

It really is the miracle that we've all been waiting for and a sign of spring hope despite the divisive discourse and economic harsh times.

"After intense therapy and a lot of help from dedicated staff, we're happy to share a hopeful prognosis for The K," Dr. Charles Ulysses Farley said. "Of course there will be some rehabilitation required and a lot of care from a vast support network. But I'm confident that The K can go on to live a healthy, happy and productive life for decades to come."

This new lease on life for The K is good news for so many families and fans who have grown to love this dominant institution of Kansas City. 

Now, we can only hope that elected leaders and the new ownership of the home team will learn to take the voices of fans and local leaders seriously rather than running away from their problems.
