Kansas City Playlist: Progressive Tesla Protest Persists

Tonight, thanks to BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC READERS we share an update on local activism.

A fact of the KCMO discourse that has faded from newscasts . . .

KANSAS CITY ACTIVISTS HAVE BEEN PROTESTING THE LOCAL TESLA DEALERSHIP FOR WEEKS!!!

Scores of locals line up on the sidewalk in front of State Line and garner more than a bit of support from passers by . . . Today the weather cooperated and it was a really nice day to spend outdoors with friends. Similarly, we can't imagine this crew will stand outside for very long when KCMO temperatures kick-up.

Either way . . . Here's today's peek at the festivities . . .

"Tesla dealership, Kansas City. We had over 200 people."

Accordingly . . .

We don't know if this protest is effective . . . Tesla stock confronts the "death cross" but we know more than a few people who have been burned by betting against Elon Musk.

Either way, tonight charged up protesters demonstrating against electric car future inspires our www.TonysKansasCity.com playlist . . .  Let's make this one quick . . .

AC/DC's classic "Live Wire" is self-explanatory and gives us a glimpse one of the greatest bands the world has ever seen from a long ago time when they had yet to achieve their glory days . . .

Most of our clueless friends don't know that "I've Got The Power" by Snap! was actually a German dance track that called back to the early days of house (haus) music wherein Eastern European young people found a much more fun use for so many empty factories.

Shared merely as a public service because wedding season is upon us and we want TKC readers to brush up on doing "The Electric Slide" and put on a capable show for friends & family that most of us won't see again until a funeral.

UPDATE . . .

Sometimes we get such a suggestion that's so EXCELLENT we're required to amend our post . . . This post also wouldn't be complete without mentioning that the Feds are still looking for culprits after "suspicious" damage to Cybertrucks at the local Tesla dealership

And so . . . One of our loyal readers suggests that this post MUST include Electric Light Orchestra and at least a mention of their EPIC string of 70s & 80s hits . . . Here's one of our faves . . .

Another ELO track that we remember from a eye-popping finale of a late 90s cinema classic . . .

For the bridge . . . We don't often include songs that we ACTUALLY like in our playlists but we're in a rush and "Electric Relaxation" by A Tribe Called Quest reminds us that REAL hip-hop hit its pinacle sometime around the mid-90s and never really recovered and remains mired in its own legacy of unlikely global success.

Finally, the obvious choice . . . Eddie Grant's "Electric Avenue" has been a low-key anthem for Gen-X if only because it's an EXTREMELY danceable track which also offers insight into the often futile struggle against eternal class divisions, oppression and the status quo.

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe & fun Saturday night.
