Kansas City Mayor Q Celebrates Declining Gunfire: Will It Last?!?

Over the years & decades we've been tending to this local bloggy dump . . . We've watched local crime stats and here's what we know for certain . . .

SPRINGTIME IS FAR TOO EARLY TO DECLARE VICTORY OR EVEN PROGRESS AGAINST LOCAL VIOLENCE!!!

Again . . .

Here's the trend in the modern era that we've noticed . . .

Winter & colder months are actually the most peaceful time in KCMO because the elements prevent many locals congregating and fighting with one another.

However . . . This time around the uptick in local domestic violence actually thwarted that trend and the number of women killed is a shameful indication of worsening local brutality.

And then . . .

Warmer weather in Spring & Summer starts the most violent part of the year.

Here's the kicker . . .

Local violence persists during the holiday season and doesn't typically let up until the first HARD FREEZE that sometimes doesn't come until January.

Accordingly . . .

We've got a long way to go . . . And whilst we're encouraged by fewer shootings . . . There's still more work to do.

To be fair . . . Here's how Mayor Q sees it . . .

"As of Sunday, Kansas City sits at 43 homicides.  The four-year average is 46.

"83 non-fatal shootings as of Sunday, the four-year year average is 148, so a 56% decrease in this category."
