Homicide 7800 block of NE 75th Court

This afternoon about 2:15pm officers were called to the 7800 block of NE 75th court on a shooting call.

On arrival officers located a male shooting victim unresponsive in the front yard of a residence there.

Officers summoned EMS to the scene who transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. A short time later the victim was declared deceased by medical personnel.

Homicide detectives have responded to the scene and taken over this investigation.

Crime scene investigators will be processing the scene for evidence as well to hopefully give detectives a better indication of what led up to the shooting.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim had an interaction at that location with one or more suspects that led to shots being fired and the victim being struck.

The victim appears to be a teen but his identification is not yet confirmed whether he is a juvenile or adult.

Kansas City police investigating fatal shooting of teen or young adult in Northland neighborhood

Officers responded to the 7800 block of Northeast 75th Court on reports of a shooting Wednesday afternoon. It's now being investigated as a homicide.
