Jackson County Insiders Fear Chaos Amid Exec Frank White Recall

We're moving closer and closer to a historic voter rebellion at the courthouse but that doesn't mean smoothing sailing if angry voters get their way.

Consider . . .

Insiders have already warned that there are some tricky rules for the interim Jackson County Exec buried deep in the "home charter" rules. And that's why nobody from the Legislature really wants the jorb.

Even more interestingly . . . And given yet another recent behind the scenes plea for a resignation . . .

TEAM FRANK VOWS TO FIGHT THE RECALL EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!!!

Moreover . . .

Organizers can expect a court challenge, the possibility of legal action directed at organizers AND a virtual standstill of just about every government function.

Remember, Jackson County has been without a budget for MONTHS

Don't worry . . . It gets worse . . .

The recall showdown will come in the midst of Summer Chiefs & Royals stadium moves and threaten to send the teams packing amid very obvious municipal upheaval.

And while it may not be a newsflash that the Executive is totally unwilling to go gently into that good night . . . We get the feeling that recall organizers are expecting a speedy removal given more than a year of hard work gathering signatures. That would be nice but it doesn't look like it'll go down that way.

In the meantime . . . Here's a quick update on recall efforts and a recap of this week's slap fight.

Check-it . . .

Organizers say they’ve collected more than 6,000 petition sheets, each with up to 10 signatures.

"It's about the taxes first and foremost, and especially the way it was done and the amount that it was done. Nothing was followed by what the law states," said Tima Ford, one of the residents who collected signatures.

To trigger a recall election, at least 43,000 valid signatures are required. County election officials say it will take approximately two weeks to verify the signatures.
