Even better or worse . . . He considers our humble blog community and this cross-section of the local discourse . . . Here's the word:
You can find nasty examples of this kind of bitterness if you read some of the comments left by readers on the website "Tony's Kansas City," which is a collection of local news and commentary to which readers -- with almost never any editing -- are invited to respond. The man who runs the site seems quite frequently to appreciate what I write and he fairly often links TKC readers to my words. Which, in turn, allows readers to attack me relentlessly. (I have thick skin; I can take it. But when I allowed comments on my blog, I discovered I had created one more platform for uncivil discourse. So I shut down the ability to comment there years ago. However, people still can email me and they can comment on my blog posts when they appear on such sites as Facebook, LinkedIn and Bluesky.)
