Tonight we're at the conclusion of a social experiment in Kansas City.
What we've learned . . .
ZERO FARE FREEBIE RIDE POLICY IS UNSUSTAINABLE AND NOW IT'S A LEGACY OF THE PAST!!!
During the course of this experiment ridership declined, safety on the busses became an even bigger issue and the finances of the ATA grew even more perilous.
And let's NEVER FORGET that even drivers complained about the STENCH.
As far as accountability goes . . . Council dude Eric Bunch is back to avoiding any contact with the public and Mayor Q is termed out . . . They put forward this effort and now were forced to quietly walk it back in order to avoid even more extreme cuts to bus service.
Here's more aftermath . . .
"Fares will be coming back for Kansas City bus riders.
"Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) Senior Director of Marketing & Communications Cindy Baker confirmed that with FOX4 on Thursday. The news comes despite guaranteed funding from the City Council."
