Empty Shelves Expose Kansas City Prospect Grocery Store Crisis

KANSAS CITY OWNS THIS HOT MESS THAT HAS CAUSED HEARTACHE SINCE DAY ONE!!!

Consider . . .

The store started with rampant stealing and has become a hellscape over the years. 

The place might have hit rock bottom when a naked lady was regularly walking into the store and stealing food last year. 

And now . . . Amid warnings that the CITY-OWNED store just wasn't financial viable . . . 

PROSPECT SUN FRESH CAN'T EVEN KEEP THEIR SHELVES STOCKED!!!

Sadly, so many good intentions about providing people access to healthy food and alleviating so-called "food deserts" have now mostly been forgotten and quite a few of the people who live nearby go somewhere else to shop when they have the opportunity . . . 

Thinking . . .

THIS IS MUNICIPAL FAIL ON THE SAME LEVEL AS FORMER COMMUNIST BLOC NATIONS!!!

Thankfully, for the moment, food is still plentiful in the American Midwest. Sure, egg prices are a bit steep but there is no famine, no real shortages and stores across the nation remain ABUNDANT with a variety of nutritious supplies . . . EXCEPT at this East side location wherein KCMO city hall involvement has WORSENED THE CRISIS that this store was supposed to alleviate.  

Here's the story . . .

Shoppers tell KCTV5 the store hasn’t been restocked, leaving very limited items.

“I was going to buy some food, and I couldn’t find none of the stuff that I needed because they didn’t have any food available,” said Latrice Jones.

Many shoppers said this is one of the only affordable grocery stores in the area.
