Deadly Kansas City Holy Week Gunfire Erupts

Homicide 55th and Euclid

shots. While in route the call was upgraded to a shooting at 55th and Euclid.

Upon arrival officers located an adult male victim in a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately began performing life saving measures and ordered EMS to the scene. Medics transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

This is being investigated as homicide. Preliminary information revealed there was a disturbance in the street that led up to the shots being fired. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for any witnesses or surveillance footage. Crime scene personnel are processing the scene for all available physical evidence.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
