Sketchy Kansas City Budget Remains 'Structurally Unbalanced" 2025

Amid so much culture war fighting and demands for local freebies . . . We look to local insiders of find what REALLY matters about today at 12th & Oak.

Here's what TV broadcasters & the newspaper didn't mention about money matters for KC today . . .

KANSAS CITY GENERAL FUND REMAINS "STRUCTURALLY UNBALANCED" & "UNSUSTAINABLE" IN 2025!!!

This is a bigger deal than most locals understand . . . Why???

Because unlike the U.S. government . . . KCMO can't keep printing more money.

Quick caveat . . . We understand there's a difference between the general fund & the budget but it's still the biggest chuck of change KCMO must manage so will stipulate "an understanding" with nitpickers who don't have any sympathy for our need of a snappy post headline.

Even worse . . . When the deficit reaches critical mass . . . There's really coming back from the consequences.

And even worse than that . . .

The U.S. has a growing number of bankrupt cities that offer a glimpse of the future.

For instance . . . They keep talking about Detroit's comeback but it's still not someplace that most people want to live . . . And for those who think that conservative values might save us . . . We shouldn't forget that our current Prez bankrupted a casino in Atlantic City and, again, the location only serves as great background for movies about corruption.

Meanwhile . . .

Here's a couple of pages from the budget that most people overlooked . . . Thanks to TKC readers for sending them our way . . .
