"The dog, a pit bull, attacked and bit the infant Thursday night at a home in the 4900 block of West 72nd Terrace, said Sgt. Josh Putthoff, a PVPD spokesperson. The infant was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and remained in critical condition as of Friday evening."

Infant remains in critical condition after being mauled by pit bull
Police also say the child was being cared for by a non-parent caregiver when it was attacked by a pit bull. That dog has since been seized and euthanized today.
