At the time there was a strange "social justice" effort to defend the gun-toting student that we never really understood beyond local culture war posturing.
Now . . . As the nation turns decidedly conservative . . . There's a bit more common sense about the danger that any school shooter poses to the public and youngsters.
And so . . . Check today's aftermath . . .
Jaylon Elmore, 21, pleaded guilty to an amended count of attempted premeditated first-degree murder and firearm possession by a felon back in January.
Elmore will serve 240 months for the attempted premeditated first-degree murder charge and eight months for the firearm possession by a felon charge. Those sentences will run concurrently, meaning Elmore will serve them at the same time.
