According to court records and a press conference hosted by the Kenner, Lousiana Police Department, Danette Colbert, 48, who was arrested shortly after the 27-year-old journalist was found dead on Feb. 5, has been charged with second-degree murder after investigators said she allegedly drugged Manzano, resulting in his death.
Colbert was originally arrested on charges related to property crimes and theft after police said she stole Manzano's bank cards and phone.
In addition to Colbert's new charges, officers with the Kenner Police Department released the name of a new suspect, Rickey White, who has also been charged in connection to the "rising star" reporter's death.
According to court records, the "accomplice" is facing charges related to simple robbery, access device fraud, illegal transmission of monetary funds, bank fraud and computer fraud.
