IS EGG PRICE NEWS GONNA SAVE KANSAS CITY PRINT MEDIA?!?
Probably not.
And it's not exactly news that egg prices are higher because of bird flu. In fact, it has been the lead story on every network newscast for the past three weeks . . . The factoid has served mostly to criticize the Prez Trump administration and now dead-tree media doubles down on their efforts with a local check on something that everyone already knows . . . "In a survey done of Kansas City stores on Friday, Feb. 28, the food item was widely available at stores in the city. But signs were placed all over some of the sections, limiting customers to one 12-pack per purchase or warning customers of limited options because of the outbreak.
"To compare costs across stores, The Star checked the prices for store-brand white eggs at eight different stores in Kansas City Friday: HyVee, Price Chopper, Target, Sun Fresh, Walmart, Aldi, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. Prices for a dozen ranged from $3.49 to $9.39."
