It's an open secret and we've written this post a few times over the years so we won't belabor the point.
Here's what everyone in Kansas City knows but won't say out loud . . .
KANSAS CITY FAMILIES FLOCK TO SNAKE SATURDAY TO AVOID THE ROUGHER "URBAN" ST. PADDY'S DAY PARADE!!!
We can't say we blame them . . .
For many it just doesn't make sense to catch a stray bullet just to watch a few mediocre floats.
Last year . . . Following a tragic shooting at the Super bowl parade . . . Attendance at the St. Paddy's Day parade was scant and law enforcement was on the street with long gun weapons drawn.
Think we're joking about that??? Remember our post when even some local politicos thought that the flex on locals was a bit much . . .

To be fair, there wasn't any violence last year but it doesn't exactly look like a fun time.
And so . . . Let's make it plain . . .
SNAKE SATURDAY HAS BECOME THE KANSAS CITY FAMILY FRIENDLY ALTERNATIVE TO ST. PADDY'S DAY WHICH IS MOSTLY FOR ROWDY PARTY PEOPLE!!!
There's nothing wrong with that and, of course, we prefer the raunchier celebration.

The Snake Saturday Parade in North Kansas City is set for March 15, 2025.
