Kansas City Radio Legend Johnny Dare Cancelled After 32 Years

Apropos for #TBT we notice the downfall of a local media legend and the conclusion of what was the most successful rock show in Kansas City history.

To wit . . .

JOHNNY DARE REVEALED THAT TOMORROW WILL BE HIS FINAL MORNING SHOW ON THE ROCK!!!

There's not much detail in his social media post but we'd like to know what locals think about this terrestrial radio end game.

From our vantage . . .

The pretty much signals the conclusion of Kansas City terrestrial radio given that he was the last "start" to command a regional audience.

Concerts he promoted were legendary and, like it or not, he might just be the voice of Gen X in this cowtown.

For now we'd really like to hear TKC readers on this one as we share the note and a link to fan reaction.

Check-it . . .

"No one is more surprised than us that its lasted this long but after 32 years, we got smoked. Tomorrow will be the final morning show for us on the Rock."
