This horrific episode took place over the course of Friday and has left the community reeling.
Here's a summary of the tragedy and what we know so far . . .
The 5-year-old girl had been abducted by her father — George Manning, III — according to law enforcement. Before that, they said, he’d killed a woman he didn’t know, then moved to another location where his daughter lived and shot a boy and his mother. The boy died. The mother survived. The girl was later found safe with a relative.
As the day wore on, KCTV5 learned of other crimes committed afterward in Kansas City, Kansas. Manning was back in the Northland when he encountered police, who shot and killed him.
