"Even with an affordability crisis, elevated interest rates and investors in the housing market, the homeownership rate in Kansas City grew in 2024 . . . Kansas City had an owner-occupied home ownership rate of 56.4%, up from 52.8% five years ago. Among major metro areas, Kansas City ranked 35th."
