
In a scathing rebuke of the current administration . . . Legendary Kansas City newsman and blogger Bill Tammeus considers faith-based opposition to the current White House administration.
In a post that's far more politically charged and insistent than most of his community reporting and book reviews . . . Here's the crux of his argument:
"As this Christian season of Lent and this Muslim season of Ramadan continue, I keep running into people who wonder how they can effectively respond to what they perceive to be national leadership that is grossly transactional, immoral, unpatriotic, incredulous and dismissive of the core values of the world's great religions.
"I wondered much the same thing when I watched and listened to President Donald J. Trump's vitriolic and mendacious March 4 speech to Congress.
"The question for all Americans, whether people of faith or not and whether affiliated with one or another political party or not, is what realistically we can do to exercise our duties as citizens and to use what is known in religious circles as one's prophetic voice."
