In fact, movement for downtown seems to be going in the wrong direction.

Owner Heather White said she felt like it was the best decision “for now.” The streetcar construction right along Main Street has made it difficult for customers to access the business.
White said crime in midtown has made it even more difficult. Her three businesses in the neighborhood — Enchante, Tailleur and Cheval — have been broken into 11 times over the past two years. Staff have been harassed or had their tips stolen on a weekly basis, White said.
“The burden has been entirely on us to deal with these issues, and it has made operating a safe and successful business impossible.”
