Kansas City 2025 Homicide #31: Deadly Gunfire Erupts On St. John

Tonight Northeast KC endures more fatal gunfire as KC counts it's second homicide of the week so far.

Homicide 3700 blk of St. John

This evening, just before 7:30 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of St. John on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival they were directed to the parking lot of a convenience store at the corner of St. John and Monroe. Officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. They immediately began performing life saving measures and summoned emergency medical personnel to the scene. EMS pronounced the victim deceased on scene.

This is being investigated as a homicide. Preliminary investigation revealed an interaction between individuals in the parking lot of the store just before the victim was shot. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and canvassing the area for witnesses. Crime scene personnel are processing the scene for any available physical evidence.
