Congressman Mark Alford Joins Bipartisan Broadcasters Caucus

This news item is just kind of interesting for us and something that locals might have missed . . . The former Kansas City morning anchor is now part of a coalition concerning legacy media.

Here's the word . . . 

Five years after the first Broadcasters Caucus was created in Congress to be a resource to educate lawmakers about broadcast-related issues, the group has reformed for the 119th Congress.

The group is led Rep. Mike Flood (R-NE), who has been joined by Reps. Mark Alford (R-MO), Brendan Boyle (D-PA), and Darren Soto (D-FL). The bipartisan group says its aim in the current session is to continue working to ensure that their fellow lawmakers know about the challenges broadcasters face and to highlight the importance of local radio and television stations.
