
Today's hype offers more nice drawings and visions of so many upwardly mobile people enjoying wonderful lives and paying EPIC taxes in a fancy new development.
That's nice . . .
Sadly, these kind of municipal dreams almost never come true and in the meantime the project has been exceptionally secretive, without a public vote and involving a hefty bit of government subsidy . . . AND even a federal investigation of one of the developers.
However . . . Most of today's news is hype and pretty pictures . . .
"Wednesday's groundbreaking ushered in a $200 million phase of the project focused on homes, apartments, retail space and more. According to the KC Current, there will be 429 multi-family homes, 48,000 square feet of retail and more than two acres of riverfront gathering space, including a town square and riverfront promenade."
