Big Surprise: Kansas City Mayor & Council Fire Brian Platt

TKC readers and everybody with a mobile phone saw this one coming . . . And today it's news fact.

Of course there's more to talk about but for now let's document the basics:

Kansas City will be looking for a new city manager. The city council has voted unanimously to remove Brian Platt, who had been recently suspended.

In a city council meeting on Thursday, members of the council voted 13-0. The acting city manager, Kimiko Gilmore, will remain in the role for the time being.

(Hint . . . She'll be there for at least two more years . . . And this vote was a backdoor way of "making history" for the mayor & council . . . But, again, more on this later.)
