Another Downtown Kansas City Stadium Vote Coming Soon?!?

For now . . .

The consensus seems to be that a vote will be required one way or another for a Royals stadium in or around the loop.

For the Washington Square Park site . . . A lawsuit could force a vote when it comes to handing over property rights. Moreover . . . The Missouri offers to keep Chiefs & Royals are getting a bit more competitive but still not better than Kansas promising to grab ankle in the middle of a tornado ally empty field in order to try and save all the money they're losing at The Legends.

In the meantime . . . Here's the basics of the sitch and a link to more info . . .

"Washington Square Park's a city parks property not owned by Jackson County. The question becomes whether the Royals would need a vote of the people at that location to get public financing.

"If Kansas City Parks & Recreation sells parks land, that requires a vote of the residents of the city. However, if they lease it to somebody else for a certain amount of time, that does not."
