Normally, we wouldn't post this kind of thing because it's amateurish but not in a fun way. However, it's Saturday night and we like to offer late night weekend denizens something to challenge their imaginations.
Accordingly . . .
A longtime denizen of our www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community Clay Chastain offers this bold statement & controversial juxtaposition to the local media . . .
Clay Chastain Press release: In KC's past, Blacks were abused, exploited & held down. Now, White men are at the bottom of the barrel.
Assuming City Manager Platt made a mistake (Mayor Lucas has done far worse) does anyone believe Platt would have been fired over it by the Council & Lucas (13 to 0) if Platt was Black? Would Activist Chastain have been ordered stopped, arrested & falsely imprisoned by Lucas (and later maliciously prosecuted by the City & Lucas), if Chastain was Black? Would Mayor Lucas & the City have trashed Activist Chastain's 2019 Light Rail Petition if Chastain was Black? If the roles were reversed, would the media have ignored Mayor Chastain's refusal to debate Activist Lucas? Would Lucas & the City be refusing to apologize to Chastain (for falsely arresting & imprisoning Chastain), if Chastain was Black?
After Lucas ordered Chastain stopped, arrested & prosecuted (when he did nothing wrong), Municipal Judge Martina Peterson (heroically & emphatically) ruled that Chastain (indeed) had not violated any law or City ordinance (on that Council hearing day @ City Hall) and swiftly dismissed Lucas & the City's 'trespassing' case against Chastain. Now after that ruling & if their roles had been reversed, does anyone doubt (White) Mayor Chastain would have been vilified (and rightfully so) in the liberal media, tarred & feathered & run out of town for having "damaged the City's reputation" & damaged Lucas...an innocent (Black) Activist?
The moral of this story is...when it comes to discrimination and unfairness..."Two wrongs don't make a right".
KC Activist, Clay Chastain
