Aftermath of a tragic scene in this embattled metro city that often, unfairly, blames all of its problems on KCMO without realizing some very REAL homegrown suffering, poverty and desperation.

SWAT officers arrived and made entry into the house. They discovered two adult men dead inside.
Another man was also inside the residence and was taken into custody. He then had to be transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is being investigated as a double homicide.

Two men found dead in Independence home on Sunday
Independence police and SWAT officers responded to the 9700 block of East Winner Road around 3:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting.
