Highway officials stated that westbound I-70 before Fairfax Trafficway was shut down just after 4:15 p.m. One lane had been allowed for drivers about 20 minutes later.

The I-70 on-ramp from I-35 west of downtown Kansas City, Missouri, was also closed and diverting traffic . . .

A news crew observed bullet holes in the driver-side window of a car stopped on the interstate. Police have yet to comment on the response, but several law enforcement vehicles were on scene.
