Right now we notice an alternative approach to youth sports that's gaining momentum across the nation and right here in our cowtown.
Realistically, it turns out that a great deal of competitive sports is a waste of time for most people and a local politicized league offers an option to fight the patriarchy and play outside in a contest that's just about as meaningless as every other student competition.
Don't get it twisted, we understand that competitive sports can be a very fun & rewarding outlet for many (but not all) youngsters. TKC was pretty damn good at high school football and this puffy blogger can still bench press a small truck if the occasion arises . . . BUT that "skill" and about $3.24 will buy a big cup of coffee at QT.

Stonewall Sports is a community sports organization that leaves judgment at the door and allows athletes of all gender identities and abilities to play. It’s an organization that one transgender athlete said they are holding especially close.
“At the core end of it, what makes something a safe space for everybody is sitting with other human people who understand that you’re a human person,” a local suppoer said.
An athlete who plays kickball with Stonewall Sports KC and said the LGBTQIA+ community feels the pressure of Trump’s executive order. Trump signed the order Wednesday stating Title IX, a federal law banning sex discrimination in schools, means prohibiting the participation of transgender girls and women in female sports. Institutions that don’t comply face the threat of losing federal funding.
