There's a counterpoint to be made and we might get into that later . . . However, for tonight, here's the postscript on today's efforts that probably aren't good enough . . .

On Thursday the Missouri Senate had the first reading of a bill that would establish a “capital assistance program” for stadiums.

Senator Barbara Washington, a Democrat who represents District 9 in Jackson County, sponsored the bill that requires at least 33% of the cost be privately funded, and local government must cover 10% of the cost or provide other support.

“The Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs are Kansas City’s teams today and will remain Kansas City’s teams for generations to come,” Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas shared in a news release.
