"The firefighter sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The KCFD firefighter is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery . . . The KCFD firefighter was directing traffic while the occupants were being evaluated. The driver who struck the KCFD member stopped and cooperated fully with police on the scene."
