Just a question for both true believers and skeptics . . .
WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN TO METRO KANSAS CITY'S ECONOMY IF MAGA CUTS 50% OF THE LOCAL FEDERAL WORK FORCE?!?
We're not making any judgements . . . We honestly would like read some thoughtful predictions because federal workers are in every local community across the metro from the urban core to the stix and trimming half of those jobs WILL cause a ripple effect one way or another.
In the meantime . . . Here's a peek at the trimming underway . . .
"The federal government is considered to be one of the Kansas City region’s major employers, with approximately 29,000 workers . . .
"In Missouri, there were 37,574 federal employees in departments eligible for the buyout, in a state with more than 450,000 government workers across state, local and federal administration, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Office of Personnel Management. Kansas has 17,888 federal workers that might be eligible, part of a total of 260,400 government workers."
