Kansas City Confronts Domestic Violence Threat After Super Bowl Defeat

There's a fight for this narrative because big biz and corporate sponsors don't want to ruin the "fun" of fans and consumers no matter who gets hurt. 

Yes, we're aware of the questionable claim that the Super Bowl DOES NOT risk a rise in domestic violence. 

However . . .

Already in Kansas City this year there have been at least 10 homicides related to arguments and domestic violence with a recent triple homicide in the Northland shocking an otherwise peaceful community.

Here a glimpse at the science of the big game . . .

"More studies in recent years support the "myth" that women and advocates have been sounding the alarm on for decades."

"Unexpected or “upset losses”—for example, defeats when a home team is predicted to win by four or more points—are correlated with a 10% increase in the rate of domestic violence. The study found that this rise in domestic violence took place during a narrow window of time around the end of the game, and that the window expanded following disappointing outcomes for more important games, like those against rival teams, playoff games, or, say, the Super Bowl."
