Kansas City Confronts Another Horrible Year For Home Building?!?

A little more than a year ago Mayor & Council imposed draconian rules on local home builders that sparked a crash in the development of new homes. 

Local builders have been trying to push back against these rules and, under the radar there's Missouri legislation under discussion that would strip away "local control" over building codes from KCMO and push regulation into state hands.

All of this remains up for debate and we'll see how it plays out over the coming weeks.

However . . .

Here's what we know for a fact . . .

ECONOMIC FEAR, ONGOING LAYOFFS, LACK OF CONSUMER CONFIDENCE, & DRACONIAN 12TH & OAK RULES THREATEN TO RUIN ANOTHER KANSAS CITY HOME BUILDING SEASON!!!

Economic indicators aren't looking good and we don't notice any uptick in new local home construction.

"The National Association of Home Builders and Wells Fargo released their Housing Market Index earlier this month, which surveys builder confidence in the market for newly built single-family homes.

"Confidence is at a 5-month low at 42 points, a 5-point decrease compared to January."
