Allow us a quick bloggy insight . . .
Sports is about losing and preparing for all of life's inevitable losses.
Winning glory, rewards and the company of women with loose morals but, clearly, it's fleeting.
They don't tell students any of this when they start down the road of competitive sports but ALL OF IT is just training for so many inevitable losses that a person will take in their life and MAYBE that's why the most athletic, capable and talented need to understand those lessons most of all.
If a person lives long enough they will lose love, jobs, money, friends, their family, their abilities, their mobility, a lot of hair, teeth and ultimately everything will be taken away. EVERYTHING.
And so, with this humiliating defeat . . . Once again Kansas City learns that sports is nothing but preparation for LOSING.
Brief aside . . . Btw . . .
LET'S NOT FORGET THAT VALENTINE'S DAY IS THIS WEEK AS WELL!!!
And now here are the sports quotes that are pretty good and show a lot of maturity . . .
In an anticlimactic end to a promising season, the Chiefs saved their worst performance for last as the Eagles outplayed them in every phase of the game. After the loss, head coach Andy Reid shouldered the blame while crediting Philadelphia for their dominant performance.
“Today was a rough day,” Reid said in his postgame remarks. “We didn’t really play well in any of the phases. I didn’t coach good enough. They did a nice job… We’ll learn from this. Like most games here, when you don’t do very well, you learn from it as a coach, you learn from it as a player, and you move on.”
From the champ QB . . .
“When you give a team 14 points, especially a really good football team, a Super Bowl football team, then not a lot of good things,” Mahomes explained. “That’s why I take ownership in this loss more than probably any loss in my entire career because I put us in a bad spot. Even though we put up some stats at the end of the game, those stats didn’t really matter because we had already lost the momentum.”
