Follow-up report on more gunfire this evening . . . Thankfully, nobody permanently hurt . . . Here's the report sent to local media . . .
KCPD: Officer Involved Shooting
This afternoon, at 4:00 PM, patrol officers responded to the area of 11th and Elmwood on a suspicious activity call regarding an individual possibly involved in an armed carjacking.
At 9th and Van Brunt officers located the individual. There was an interaction between officers and the subject that led to an exchange of gunfire between the subject and officers.
The subject ran from the scene and entered a vehicle. Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit as the subject fled the area. The pursuit concluded at the Lewis and Clark Viaduct. A subject of interest was taken into custody without incident, pending further investigation.
