Here's the postscript and real life result of "transit-oriented" development . . .
"Tenants now can move into 50 of the complex's 185 units, thanks to a temporary occupancy certificate the city issued Jan. 9, set to run through March 6. Renderings depict ornate Wizard of Oz-inspired amenities, like a "striking Emerald Lobby" in the historic drug store building and a "Ruby Pool Deck" on top.
"But the historic section of the development lacks these high-end amenities promised by its developer, St. Louis-based Lux Living. It's unclear if or when Lux will finish work on the 1934 building, which includes the iconic clock tower."

Lux Living promised to reuse the historic Katz Drug Store building in Midtown as it built apartments there. Now, the first apartments are opening, but the historic space is a shell, with a lien foreclosure pending.
