Westport Mourns Legendary Kansas City Midtown Mogul Loy Edge

This note arrived from one of our old-school favorites and adds a very nice personal touch to the passing of a man who helped craft one of this town's favorite hot spots . . . I don't think Bill Nigro would mind if he gave him credit for this kind note . . .

"Westport morns the death of Loy Edge. He created Harry's Bar and Tables, Fidel's Cigar Shop and the Buzzard Beach. He was a big part of Westport's development over the years. Loy was a good friend."

To demonstrate the reach of admiration for Mr. Edge. Kansas City conservative Jack Cashill was the first to note his massing. Here's the start of his tribute via www.TonysKansasCity.com link . . .

Cashill: "Thursday, Loy Edge was found  dead in his apartment. Loy had been in ill health for some time . . . As all  of his many friends in KC and LA will confirm, Loy was an extraordinary character."
