TKC Told You So: La Migra Fear Sweeps Kansas City

Just as we noted . . . Nobody is saying captures didn't occur (because enforcement has been constant) but the report also confirms our thesis from yesterday . . . A great deal of the online "reporting" was just garbage and proven untrue when called out on specifics . . . No, there weren't any door-to-door searches and the rumor of a Northeast grocery store sweep was bunk. 

None of that is to deny immigration arrests already underway and documented:

However . . .  

Because local Latinos have been confronting this rumor mill through the Bush years during Prez "Deporter In Chief" Obama and in the present day . . . The response is mindful but muted.

Latino and Hispanic civic leaders said the community doesn't need to be fearful but needs to be cautious.

​"One thing is that we want our community to try and live their lives normally," said Ana Duin, with La Mega KC Spanish radio station. "Yeah, it's OK to be scared because, I mean, even we're scared for them."

No confirmed ICE raids in Kansas City area despite rumors on social media

There have been no confirmed large-scale raids from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in the Kansas City area.
