Details about the finances of the establishment merely serve to offer more context in the aftermath of the misfortune inflicted upon these locals.

- The horrific murder of Shaun Brady basically shut down his restaurant Brady & Fox.
- More than a dozen workers were forced to look for new jobs after the slaying.
- Investment in the East Brookside restaurant scene still moves forward but at a slower pace with much more hesitancy from both potential workers and patrons.

"Brady & Fox closed in August after Brady was fatally shot outside the restaurant while confronting teens attempting to break into a vehicle. The Ireland native and beloved chef was 44.
"The restaurant’s website now is defunct, and its most recent Facebook post was in early September. In December, the city of Kansas City posted a notice on the door that it was suspending the restaurant’s health permit due to prolonged inactivity."
