New Ray County Sheriff Shuts Down Jail

It's a notable move but not really a progressive effort to champion social justice . . . Instead it just seems like a responsible decision that might avoid legal clap back . . . Check-it:

"Electrical issues, a lack of proper lighting, and damage from escape attempts also present dangers to staff and inmates, New Ray County Sheriff Gary Blackwell said in the news release.

"A part of the jail will remain open as a 24-hour holding facility. "

Ray County Sheriff Gary Blackwell grabbed a flashlight before leading KSHB 41 News on a tour of the county jail on Thursday, just one day after he took office and closed the jail.
